Color Computer 2 supercharged! w00t!

THE PLAN:
Mod a radioshack color computer 2 so that it can emulate old skool games! w00t!

THE PLANNED HARDWARE:
1 syntax S635MP micro ATX motherboard with built in Samuel 1.3 gigapro CPU with VIA chipset

1 stick of ULTRA ULT30090 256 MB 333MHz DIMM memory

1 Dual tube MADD DOGG blue cold cathode kit with inverter

1 300 or 400 watt ATX power supply with LONG leads (its going to be externaly mounted)

STEP 1:
First I started out with the color computer stock.
Next off comes the lid and out comes the keyboard and circut board and the power supply.
Next i do the oh so lovely task of cleaning up the case. There was so much cofee spilled in it the water was brown.

STEP 2:
Next I took the nice shiny motherboard out of its metallic bag and started marking what needs to be cut and how much. Also at the same time i was calculating the clearance and compenstating.

STEP 3:
Mmmm. Time to cut. This was the hardest part. I used a hammer and chisel for the tabs and little walls, a case nipper for little, hard to reach things, a hacksaw for screw towers, and a jigsaw for the back panel opening and for the acrilic for the case window/keyboard stand. The jigsaw part was hard because the abs plastic melted and formed a foam which bonded the mess togther again.

STEP 4:
DRILL TIME!!!

STEP 5:
After all that crap was cut, I went on to screwing stuff in. At this time i put in the front usb and made the motherboard's standoffs.

STEP 6:
After that, i used my trusty hot glue gun to glue in the cold cathode tubes, window, switches, and speaker in.

STEP 7:
Testing. I hooked it up and it ran linux-on-cd (knoppix)!!!!!!

MORE UPDATES AND PICTURES SOON (by the end of the week)
